Our Texel Flock

“Logie Durno Her Majesty”Our flock of 100 Texel ewes was established in 1999 with the purchase of two ewes from the Muiresk flock. A daughter, "Logie Durno Her Majesty", sired by Turin Fantastic became the cornerstone of our flock. She was breed champion at the Black isle and she was placed at the Royal Highland show on more than one occasion. We came to realise that the Texel breed is milky with a shapely, naturally fleshed carcase which is increasingly important in todays economic climate.

“Langside New Approach” Bought for 5000gns Kelso 2008

In February, our top ewes plus embryo transfers lamb with the pedigree ram sales in mind. The remainder of the flock lamb in April to produce commercial rams for our on-farm ram sale in August, where length, ease of lambing and conformation are paramount. All our Texels are also signet recorded, for breed improvement. Our most recent addition to the Logie Durno Flock is "Langside New Approach". Purchased for 5000gns at Kelso 2008. New Approach was awarded the top stock ram prize at the North of Scotland flock competition 2008.
