Winter Update

18th January 2016

2016 has begun and the breeding stock are moving nicely though the winter grazing holding body condition well.

At Logie Durno Sheep all ewes are kept at a work like body condition allowing enough energy for the un-born lamb inside it while optimising feet health and mobillity. Any ewe that struggles to maintain a reasonable condition at winter grazing will be removed from the flock and culled once lambed.

The next big job in the years management and selection will be scanning time. There will be photos and results to follow for April and May lambing flocks.

Logie Shearling ewes after the rams have been removed. They were lambed at one year old and will have their second batch of lambs in May 2016
